Counselling
The heart often leads us back to ourselves, and sometimes we find we need support in that journey. Counselling is a service of the heart and I hold this with reverence, curiosity and care in a nurturing confidential space co-created by myself, Amaia, and the client.
In counselling I work with people in the unfolding of themselves, the gradual working with layers of complexity and a journey back to self. The counselling journey is one of exploration with reconnection often at the centre of the work. And, this is work. I will accompany you, walk alongside you, hold what needs holding for you. You will be the author of your own inner work.
The journey of each client is unique, and so the work we do together is also unique. To find out more about how I work and the ways in which I practice, explore here.
To find out about the kinds of things you might expect in counselling such as the investment, time and location, explore see FAQs below.
My practice is always evolving as I deepen my own work with varied psychotherapeutic philosophies and models. I aim to evolve a practice that works within diversity, actively practises anti-oppression and remains open to learning and rethinking. I will also work with clients in an endeavour to resource the client and am aware of my own privilege and senses.

Please feel welcome to call, email me or use my online enquiry form you can find at amaiadadachanji.com.
Usually we book in an assessment which allows me to see whether we can work together. Once this is done and we are compatible, we will book in the first block of sessions. Once complete, we work together to review how you are doing and whether to add more blocks on.
Reasons why we might be compatible to work together include conflicts of interest, timing difficulties etc. but I will do my best to refer you to someone appropriate should that be needed.

All sessions are 50 minutes long unless mutually agreed otherwise.
I have a tiered payment system to make sure counselling is accessible as possible.
Blossom £35.00
This is the investment per session for those in need of a lower cost service to be able to access counselling. This is for those with no disposable income nor savings within the household. If this is still too much for you, get in touch directly.
Bloom£50.00
This is the investment per session in order that I may maintain a sustainable practice. This tier of investment is for those who have a comfortable daily life (financially), for example can go on holiday or eat out.
Branch £65.00
This is most commonly chosen by those who are more resourced financially so that lower cost services may be offered, creating a care in counselling circle. This is optional but welcome from those who have savings, financial abundance or would like to gift counselling onwards.
Time
In terms of time working together, this could range from 13 weeks to 13 years. I like to start with 13 weeks as minimum and then offer more time as needed or desired by the client.
We generally see each other for 50 minutes each week.

Support
Amaia has been working with grief for the last two decades.
In 2006 I wrote my dissertation on Vervain - plant kin of grief and magic. I have always been called to working with plants, people and grief, tending each person or group and feeling into how nature in grief is so therapeutic. When I was studying body-centred psychotherapy I again felt the call to work with grief and all its manifestations. I studied with Azul Valerie Thome in her Grief Composting work and have had supportive healing roles with many involved in activism.
Rose ceremonies are my most popular grief ceremony but vervain, elecampane and many other plant kin may be chosen or blended.
See below for my grief tending offerings.
