It’s been an OK autumn for harvesting. The rosehips have been (and still are a little) abundant and lots of rosehip syrup has been made! (watch out friends, chrissie pressies have been made!). If there is another dry day and I find more, I would like to deseed them, dry them and powder them. Let’s hope I see some.
The haw berries have been interesting. On some trees there have been leaves and berries in abundance, on others absolutely no leaves but still the berries hang on.
We have picked some from the commons but may need some more for some Turkish Delight nearing Christmas.
The roots now need digging for some wintry tonics. Next week the elecampane, comfrey and hemp agrimony need to be unearthed in order to make some new fresh tinctures and oils.
